E D D I E    F R E U D M A N N   z'l -  Founder

Eddie Freudmann z'l was one of the original pioneers of kosher travel when he founded his kosher travel company in London in 1957. He succeeded in quickly establishing a reputation as an innovator in the (then) novel field of kosher tours when he began operating the world's first Kosher Pesach Program in a hotel in Italy in the late 1950’s. Eddie z'l brought his creative kosher travel business to Israel when he made Aliyah in 1977, and continued pioneering new ideas of kosher travel by initiating the kosher cruising concept. Through his keen eye for all that is new and exciting in kosher touring, and his uncompromising stance on personalized service and maintaining the highest kashrut standards, Eddie z'l succeeded in putting Eddie's Travel in the forefront of the quality kosher travel industry, a tradition perpetuated today by his son-in-law Tuvia Fish.

T U V I A    F I S H  -  Meet the CEO

Prior to co-founding his first company, Coovi, Tuvia Fish (who holds a post graduate LL.B. and a bachelors degree in commerce and marketing) practiced law as an advocate at Yigal Arnon & Co., Israel's leading law firm in the high tech and general commercial sectors, where he represented many start-ups and VC's through all stages of the corporate life cycle. Tuvia left Yigal Arnon at the end of 1999 to establish Coovi together with his brother Moshe Fish.

Coovi was an Internet Start-up company, which developed an innovative interactive platform for promotional advertising that was used by AOL & MSN amongst others. In addition to being Coovi's co-founder, Tuvia served as CEO and President of the company, was responsible for raising its finances and was the overseer of development, marketing and sales.

In 2003, Tuvia joined his father-in-law, Eddie, applying his expertise in digital marketing in order to expand the company's reach and to enable more people in more places around the globe to enjoy the specialized products of Eddie's Travel, while keeping within the boutique family nature of the company. Today, Tuvia manages the day-to-day activities of Eddie's Travel while also overseeing marketing and sales, as well as personally accompanying clients on cruises and tours, in continuing with the company's long-standing tradition of personalized service and close attention and care of clients, the standard of our product and an uncompromising level of Kashrut.

Meet our new Business and Operations Managers

Originally from Melbourne Australia, David & Chana and thier 4 kids are a well travelled vibrant modern orthodox family.
In Australia, David owned Trelidor Australia where he managed the day to day activities of the business and oversaw marketing and sales.

In addition, following their passion for the kosher travel sector David and his wife also developed ‘Oz Kosher Getaways’, a business whose 5 star Pesach program soon became the premium Pesach getaway of Australia and the Region - with all the trimmings. They both have a Bachelor of Business with a major in Marketing and have completed Certificates in Event Management.
David & Chana believe that travelling and keeping Kosher should be fun, exciting and uncompromising on quality - making them a perfect match for Eddie’s travel!

Eddie Freudmann z'l was a leader in the development of kosher touring for almost half a century. The origins of Eddie's Travel go back to the London of the 1950's, a time when popular foreign travel was still in its infancy and the kosher holiday industry virtually unknown. Eddie z'l played a key role in popularizing the idea of quality kosher travel by expanding its range and quality beyond anything that had been known before, including the opening up of the first-ever kosher hotel on Italy's Adriatic coast. 

When Eddie z'l moved to Israel about 30 years ago, he came with a firm commitment to continuing pushing forward the bounds of kosher travel's variety and quality. It was Eddie z'l who pioneered the idea of Pesach holidays for Jewish Anglos, bringing 400 people from around the world, including from Europe, the United States and Israel to specially koshered, top quality hotels, on the shores of Israel's spectacularly beautiful and historic Lake Kinneret.

In the early 1990's Eddie z'l's creativeness found new expression with the luxury cruises that have made Eddie's Travel a household name among kosher travelers seeking the ultimate in comfort, luxury and value. One of the most memorable of Eddie z'l's original kosher holiday ideas was to cruise on the Orient Line's Marco Polo, with a separate kitchen, specially selected chefs and mashgiachim, providing a choice and quality of cuisine never known before in the world of kosher cruising. Today, aboard all of its cruises, Eddie's Travel's cruises continue to set the standards in kashrut quality, first-class accommodation and friendly service.

Tracking the history of kosher cruising, travel writer Gabe Levenson of the New York Jewish Week wrote in an article on June 6, 2003, that some 20 years ago, she led a kosher trip to Scandinavia where "Devout participants brought along their suitcases bulging with the usual tinned tuna, biscuits, dishes, utensils, linen napkins, the works. They supplemented their limited diet en route with a variety of fish cooked and served in tin foil."

She adds, "most cruise ships...had available a variety of frozen kosher foods prepared in microwave ovens and served still in its seal."

All that changed with the advent of the major breakthrough in deluxe kosher cruising - initiated, arranged and perfectly and personally implemented by Eddie Freudmann z'l on the Orient Lines' deluxe Marco Polo cruise ship - in a style, luxury and at value previously unavailable to the discerning kosher traveler.

In the independent words of travel writer, Gabe Levenson:

"Orient Lines [Eddie Freudmann z'l ] took the next step, dedicating one of its galleys on the Marco Polo to preparing fresh kosher dishes, establishing one dining room for the observant, setting the tables with newly unpacked dishes, silverware, glassware, instructing a special staff of waiters, engaging a team of mashgiachs and turning out, in short, deluxe meals and service of the highest quality."

The tremendous efforts that Eddie's Travel takes in order to provide the greatest kosher cruising experiences are paralleled in its groundbreaking land tours, taking tourists to places they never dreamed it was possible to visit while keeping to the same kashrut standards they maintain in their homes. Who would have thought of strictly kosher safaris through the most breathtaking African game reserves, and who could imagine kashrut-observant tourists enjoying the rich historical and cultural treasures of China? Not only was Eddie's Travel the innovator of Kosher touring in China, but it was also the first to organize a Kosher cruise along Russia's famous Volga River, as well as being the pioneer of countless other land breaking Kosher holiday milestones. While other travel agents have attempted to follow suit on new Kosher destination ideas created by Eddie's Travel, none of them can reproduce its distinctive style of customer care and quality program, not to mention the high level of kashrut standards perfected by Eddie's Travel.
